ROSE Laboratory Opens

FEBRUARY 2020

ROSE FOUNDATION and Laboratory were launched on Monday, 17 February 2020 at Armada Hotel in Petaling Jaya. ROSE stands for Removing Obstacles to cervical Screening.

The Foundation has leveraged on science, technology and principles of design thinking to deliver an innovative cervical screening solution that is evidence-based. The service model of ROSE consists of three components, namely self-sampling, HPV testing and e-Health to deliver a comprehensive program which will save lives.

A partnership between University of Malaya and VCS Foundation of Australia, the ROSE Laboratory is underpinned by the same cutting-edge technologies and stringent standards used by the Australian National Cervical Screening Programme.

Cervical cancer is the third most common cancer among Malaysian women. In 2018, the World Health Organization made a global call for action towards the elimination of cervical cancer. ROSE is an important part of Malaysia’s efforts to achieve this global goal.

Both the ROSE FOUNDATION and Laboratory are located at UMXcelerate Complex at University of Malaya campus in Kuala Lumpur.
