COMMUNITY PARTNERS
SPB believes in giving back to the community and we do this by supporting projects that have a powerful, positive impact on society as a whole as well as those who are in need.
A not-for-profit learning centre, IDEAS Academy started in 2014 providing secondary level learning support for underprivileged youths, including those who are refugees, stateless and undocumented in Malaysia. The centre provides teaching and learning opportunity in the following subjects: English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Bahasa Malaysia, Computing Studies, Art and Physical Education from the internationally recognised Cambridge Curriculum. They also offer a one year bridging programme for those in need of such a programme due to interrupted learning.
The aim of IDEAS Academy is that every child between 12 and 18 years old should gain a strong secondary educational foundation to become responsible, confident and compassionate citizen of tomorrow. What began as a small class hosted within another school, has since become a centre with multiple classrooms for up to 300 students equipped with a library, IT room and canteen.
IDEAS Academy currently has 6 full-time teachers. They are qualified teachers who are familiar with students who come from interrupted learning background. SPB is sponsoring a teacher for 2018.
